After 9 years of gap, we will finally get to see Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar sharing screenspace together and this has been possible with Rohit Shetty’s next, ‘Sooryavanshi’. As per our sources, it has been officially confirmed that Katrina will be seen playing the lead actress opposite Akshay in this movie. Rohit Shetty had made an announcement of his next, ‘Sooryavanshi’ with ‘Simmba’ release last year. While Akshay was being introduced as a cop during the end of ‘Simmba’ movie, the actress wasn’t finalized back.

Of what we hear, Rohit Shetty had some other actress in his mind for the leading actress role in ‘Sooryavanshi’. However, Akshay Kumar was looking forward to work with Katrina Kaif and hence he convinced Rohit Shetty to cast her for the lead role.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as a jodi have delivered several hits together in the past. However, their last movie, ‘Tees Maar Khan’ which released in 2010 didn’t fare well at the box office. Since then, we didn’t get to see both the actors coming together for a movie. However, the wait is over and we will be finally seeing Katrina-Akshay’s jodi back in action with ‘Sooryavanshi’. On work front, while Katrina Kaif is busy with ‘Bharat’, Akshay Kumar is currently working on projects like ‘Housefull 4’, ‘Good News’, ‘Mission Mangal’ and ‘Sooryavanshi’.
